  Very peculiar in is it’s little apartment like rooms. Privacy. Very Dominican or Island Styled. Centrally located in the Old Colonial City.

  Actually I had the intention of staying there. As the hotel looks quite run down on the outside (don't be fooled by the beautiful pictures here) and the Google reviews are not all that positive I asked politely (during daytime) if it would be possible to see a room of the same category which I did reserve. They said its impossible as they were totally booked out ... I knew this was a lie as I have been checking the bookings the night before and the very same day. Maybe the guy at the reception was just too lazy or whatever other excuse there might have been - this is far from being customer friendly and I had the assumption the reviews were correct so I did cancel my reservation afterwards.

  If you come here dont accept a room facing the street is a chaos vehicles at all time on the street I couldn't Sleep more than two hours the whole night even paying my money. Si vienes a este hotel no aceptes habitación con vista a la calle no dormiras yo me quede en una habitacion de este tipo y no pude dormir mas de dos horas en toda la noche.

  HOTEL DISCOVER IS THE WORST HOTEL I EVER STAYED AT. THE ROOMS ARE EXTREMELY DIRTY AND DUSTY AND THE STAFFS THERE ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I WILL NEVER BOOK A ROOM THERE AGAIN EVEN IF IT WAS THE ONLY HOTEL IN THE CAPITAL OF DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. MY FAMILY AND I HAD THE WORST TIME THERE AND WE WOULD RATHER SLEEP ON THE STREET UNDER A CLEAN TREE SOMEWHERE OR THE TRAIN STATION INSTEAD OF THAT PLACE. DON'T BE FOOL BY THEIR COVER UP ADVERTISEMENT ON THE WEB, ITS A BUNCH OF LIES AND ONCE YOU GET THERE THAT IS WHEN YOU WILL DISCOVER LIKE THEIR NAME WHAT THAT PLACE IS TRULY LIKE. My family and I booked a room with two beds because we were traveling with our child but forgetting that we made a reservation for the day we arrived they ended up giving us a dusty room with one bed and a filthy sofa bed with the nastiest mattress that needed to be in the dumpster a long time ago, sadly all three of us ended up having to share the same bed for what we thought would be one night only but four days later after we showed them how angry we were and how unprofessional they have been to us that is when they decided to give us another dusty room with two beds, which we had to have them clean all over, the walls, the dresser, the curtains, under the beds, the TV man everything is that place was filthy. Dust bunnies was everywhere "yuck" According to some sources the curtains haven't been washed for over 10 years and there were dust everywhere. It will be a waste of your time and money if you go to that hotel. the only time we enjoyed our stay in DR was when we went out. the staffs were very unprofessional and they never follow thru, if you don't hunt them down nothing would get done. Too bad we had to suck it up and buy stuff to clean that nasty place and that was how we were able to finish our stay there. Thank God we brought our personal towels because we were afraid to use theirs . we spent the rest of our vacation with no TV with a WIFI that barely works, the water cooler was very dirty. The only good thing I can say is that the hotel is in a great location but in order for them to continue in business they would have to sell the place to someone who really know how to provide great customer service with a clean place. the experience we had was so awful, we would not even refer our worst enemy to that hotel.

  This Hotel was great! We stayed there twice and our daughter traveled alone and stayed there and felt very safe at Hotel Discovery. My only wish would be for a microwave to go with the fridge:) But clean, comfortable, safe and A/C too :)
